Final Destination: Ho Chi Minh City

Welcome to the last instalment of my Vietnam trip.

Before we fly back to Ho Chi Minh City, we stayed one night in Adamas Hanoi Hotel. It took us another 4 hours bus ride from Halong City to Hanoi. Therefore we needed the rest!

Accommodation: Adamas Hanoi Hotel – 3 stars
Rating: ★★★★☆
Room Cost: USD32/night with breakfast

For once, we had a quiet meal on the roof garden overlooking Hanoi City. It was bright and windy with no scorching sun. Perfect morning to wake up to. We picked on our meal while we reminisced the days. There was nothing else to look forward to except for our flight back to Ho Chi Minh. There was a delay on our return trip. Unexpected but nothing unusual.

Accommodation: Giang Son 2 Hotel – 2.5 stars
Rating: ★★☆☆☆ – the only good thing is, this hotel is located at District 1. Party goers, easy access to clubs and discos!
Room Cost: USD20/night with breakfast

The remaining days in Ho Chi Minh City went by quickly. We left for Mui Ne to visit the sand dunes and came back to shop at Ben Thanh market.

We made a mistake. We insisted on going to Mui Ne and the journey took us half a day by the sleeper bus. By the time we reached the city, it was already late at 9pm and the night market was closing soon.

Muslims need not worry if you ever come to Ho Chi Minh, Halal food are easy to get. Singaporeans who have extra RM from their visit to Malaysia, save them for your trip to Ho Chi Minh. Everyone of them speaks malay so well BUT, you have to learn to bargain! We did just that, Jo is better at bargaining. She is good in everything, that is why I depended on her alot for every trip. Heh.

The sand dunes visit was short because we hd a bus to catch. We should have done our homework and find out about the journey and distance for every tour. Lesson learnt!

We continued to shop at Ben Thanh Market in the morning and rushed back to our room to pack and leave. We will definitely make a return to Vietnam to visit the other historical cities.

With the end of this post, I can start to plan for our next adventure in November!

    • Hi Anthony! Yes we had a jolly good time in Vietnam. We do hope to return some time to visit the other cities we missed.

Well if you like the beach and enjoy surfing, you can stay at one of the resorts in Phan Tiet, where the beaches are. Then get a jeep to go to the sand dunes in Mui Ne. Otherwise, the sand dunes are pretty for photo shoot but not worth the long hours ride since we came from Ho Chi Minh. If we had more time we would probably stay awhile more to enjoy the beach!
